Die Riesenflasche

Fiona Pulda & Sebastian Hellinger

2017

A giant, accessible plastic bottle, made out of many regular plastic bottles. This outdoor installation invites viewers to think about waste and the throwaway culture. It rose from an array of workshops with students, which educate themselves about recycling and sustainability through the playful method of creating an artwork together.

Fiona Pulda is ZeroWasteLady. In the past few years, next to her studies at the BOKU, she was travelling the world during which she realized the effects of waste on our planet and the disappointment that many had especially in the poorer countries. Fiona began taking photos of trash, documenting the growth of our use and throw lifestyle. She saves trash and uses this in her artworks. Since a few years she has been intensely working with the topic zero waste and tries to create as little trash as possible.
