I’m Aleksa from Romania, a visual artist turned entrepreneur turned DJ.
I started DJ-ing at the beginning of 2016, and prior to this I’ve hardly missed an electronic music event in Bucharest since 2009 when I moved there, so taking up DJ-ing came quite naturally. On January 2016 I started recording and uploading a set per month, which by 2017 metamorphosed into one set per week, as part of my imaginary radio show. By doing this I started to gain more and more support, which provoked me to plunge into music on a more serious level and to develop my own technical routine.
With my sets, be it online or live, I try to create a narrative for my audience, to develop a story that’s not necessarily connected to my own, all by deciphering genre preconceptions. My sets are explorations to differing degrees across the electronic spectrum, drifting between crepuscular ambiental, field recordings and electro impulses, cinematic yet sometimes raw techno, all culminating in otherworldly expeditions.
