2017

Visions in the Upwind is a series of portraits that was started beforehand the festival. It combines a few creative and inspiring heads of the city, that create a breeze of fresh air with their projects. For the project they were staged as explorers and inventors in public spaces. This way Christian Felber, initiator of the Project Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie (commonweal-economy), plays the xylophone at the MUMOK. Robin Poppins, founder of the event-app Bloom, searches the Prater for new living creatures, and Walker Gössinger, chairman of the IG Kultur Wien tries himself as a mobile. Hamdi Abdullahi from Radio Orange communicates with Jutta Kleedorfer from the MA18 - Stadtentwicklung und Stadtplanung (city development and city planning), while Hannah Christ, founder of femdex - a feminist platform for electronic music - starts the rotor. Together with three Tanz durch den Tag (Dance through the Day) festival leaders Jan Ernst, Fabian Burger, and Laurent Koepp and the artistic director from Sheri Avraham (Forum Biotopia), they lift away to polish their visions.
